Organizing For Dummies Mini Edition eBook Eileen Roth

This "mini edition" presents frameworks and tips for organizing your time, space, and possessions. Its brevity is perfect for people who don't enjoy the whole concept of organizing, so don't want to spend hours reading about it. For readers who can stand a bit more, there is Organizing and Storage Solutions For Dummies, Pocket Edition.

Things I found useful:

- Moving (or pretending to move) is a way to motivate yourself to get rid of unneeded things.
- Spend 15 minutes at the end of each day putting things away--start tomorrow fresh.
- Sort the things you don't need into three piles: distribute, donate, or dump.
- Trade an unpleasant task to a coworker who doesn't mind doing it in exchange for one of theirs you don't mind doing.
- Stand up to indicate a meeting is over. Begin walking out of the room.
- Schedule unwanted meetings right before important events to keep them short.
- If you are working at home, don't answer the door or phone.
- Delegate tasks that are routine or short, that you don't have time for, and that train others.
- Always have something to read during unexpected delays.

The author has done a good job picking strategies that are easy to use and have clear value. Given other sources I have read, I am particularly pleased that this book avoids repetitiveness, lengthy explanation, and overly-cheerful chattiness. The book is a quick read with some good ideas.

Organizing For Dummies Mini Edition eBook Eileen Roth Reviews

This is a book definitely written for dummies, real dummies, and analogical ones, e.g. there is no mention at all to apps and often talks about phone books, writing notes... Really, there is nothing really compelling or useful to take away from this book, nothing different, surprising, new. A waste of time and money (even if it is a small amount of each).
The sample I downloaded to my kindle app was good and I can see there is useful info. When able I may purchase the entire kindle version but can't at this time. At least this can get me started.
Arrived in perfect condition, and was very cheap.
I have to knock off 1 star for the first 20 or so pages being "LOOK AT HOW AWESOME WE ARE!!1" and not teaching me anything about organizing.
This book has some great tips on how to become more organized. It offers ways to help you de-clutter. It's laid out very simply and is easy to read. There are practical ideas and easy steps to follow. It has helped me decrease my unnecessary clutter and organize my home in a way that works for me.
Probably a really useful guide to a more orderly houshold but I can't remember where I put it.
I bought this because my office was looking like an atom bomb had exploded in it! Seriously That bad. Hubby piled everything with my name on it in my office when we moved (I love you hubby!!), then add paperwork, daily life and all the rest and you have a recipe for a place that needs a path to find the desk. Ugh. Finally getting some organization in this place.
This mini book has minimal information. It's not worth owning, especially since with a little internet search you can gather by far more information about organizing. Perhaps the more comprehensive version of this book offers more, but not this ultra mini one.
